This is one of the most important books - if not actually the most important book - to come out this year. While it appears to be about losing weight, or as the title says, Downsizing Your Body, it is really about so much more than that: living longer, living healthier, and avoiding the disease "traps" that surround us all. Clearly written, easily understood, this book is for everyone, slim or obese, healthy or sick. I very much recommend this to all. ~Scott Tips, President of the National Health Federation

As a health journalist, I try to write about health, not necessarily disease. I attempt to apply critical thinking to today's failed efforts to address health issues, such as the failed approaches to control obesity.

    • Bill Sardi, a brilliant medical investigative reporter has a lot to tell scientists, medical professionals and the public. In his new work “Down-Sizing-Your Body”— Bill unlocks the secret behind the diabetes epidemic – misplaced food fortification of an aging population. Be informed. We are being bred to be fat with devitalized artificial foods containing sugars, non –sugars, trans fat and worst of all iron fortification.

    • “Downsizing Your Body”, may sound like just another weight loss book, but the subtitle, “How The Industrial Food Complex Breeds That Americans”, points us to the insightful nature of this well researched book. With so many new diets, new exercise machines, “medical breakthroughs”, and several industries aimed at helping us lose weight: why are so many Americans continuing to become obese? Author Bill Sardi documents how modern food processing, by negligence or design, virtually compels us to overeat. Sardi’s knack for seeing “the forest for the trees” when it comes to synthesizing seemingly contradictory research is invaluable. Besides offering sensible solutions, this book reveals several startling correlations between nutritional status and health conditions that have implications well beyond weight-loss. This book has made me rethink many of my assumptions about the relationship between food and health. A must-read!

    • I started to read Downsizing Your Body a few days ago, and couldn’t put it down! It presents a surprising, well-researched explanation and solution for the puzzling obesity epidemic. Forget all those ridiculous diets, just read this book!

    • Bill Sardi’s advice on his websites, earlier writings, and radio shows prompted me to dig into his latest book, “Down-sizing Your Body.” It’s been extremely helpful. Over 18 months, I have decreased my weight 46 pounds. And increased my physical and mental energy in a major way. My physician was impressed, taking me off blood pressure pills. I’m sixty-eight and today take no medicines of any kind.Bill Sardi’s knowledge and advice gave me a clear roadmap. He got me going with simple measures: 30 minutes a day of brisk walking, then avoiding the process foods that over-populate our supermarkets, replacing them with flaxseeds, vegetables, fruits berries, grapes etc.He also presents an unusual regimen for supplements including resveratrol, IP6 bran extract, inositol and more.
My wife and I not only feel better, we discovered the natural foods Bill recommends cost us less than the brightly-packaged, highly- marked up package foods that dominate the center aisles of the supermarkets, from the cereal aisles to the freezer cabinets. Consider the irony: “Pay more – get less health.” ” Pay less – get more health.”
That’s the kind of refreshing advice Bill Sardi is putting out there in “Downsizing Your Body”
